A food truck is a big motorized vehicle, together with a truck, van, or trailer, equipped to cook dinner, prepare, serve, and/or promote meals. Some popular kinds of food trucks include ice cream trucks and frozen or prepackaged meals; others have on-board kitchens and may even be put together meals from scratch, or warmed up after being prepared in a brick and mortar kitchen. Sandwiches, hamburgers, french fries, and other regional fast foods are common.
In current years, associated with the pop-up restaurant phenomenon, food trucks offering connoisseur cuisine, specialties, and ethnic menus have become popular. Food trucks may also sell hot and cold beverages. Food trucks and food carts are on the front line of the food truck industry that serves an anticipated 2.5 billion people each day.
